Scottish Meet

I stay near Loch Lomond would be interested to meet others as just picked up new Z4 last week 8)

 Hi all
Did this meet go ahead last year? If not, any reason why not, and would any one else be interested in one for this summer?
I would be well up for this, and the suggested Run from the 2009 posts would be a nice run, I would be quite happy to help organize it. Let me Know

Nope, there's never been a Scottish Meet...

Just didn't come together last year for various reasons but certainly something I'd be interested in. I've owned my Z4 and use the z4-forum for well over a year and have only met a couple of other Z4 owners...

I reckon we just pick a date and location and take it from there - we'll never get a date to suit everyone unfortunately. There's folk all over (mainly) the central belt and Ayrshire area (plus Richard a bit further south ;)), so most folk are going to have to travel to a start point. With that in mind, somewhere like Stirling or Drymen/Balloch might be a reasonably central start point, while having direct access to the nicest roads, perhaps! Also might be best deciding a date now for April time or so, better weather plus lets folk get permission slips from OH's...

I suggest using this thread for discussion about a date/venue, then once decided we'll stick up a new thread? I'll try and PM a few Scottish members to generate some discussion.

I'm between Norway and the UAE at the mo. Can't commit to anything at the mo, at least till End of April.

Hi folks, I am up for this.
Only date I can't do is the weekend of the 10th of April.

Hey, did you park opposite me in Sainsburys car park in Darnley on Saturday afternoon?

So far the possibilities are sounding like:

17/18th April
24/25th April

unless we stretch it into May.

As for format, thoughts? A few hours drive, a few photo/random chat stops, plus a food stop somewhere? Weather should be reasonable by then, so hopefully suitable for decent driving...

howdy... was indeed!
I think i've seen your car around weeg a couple of times before.
See you at the meet if you can make it!

Re the meet... as long as it involves driving and food i'm happy.

I have been on a couple of runs with zeds from the old Zforum days and have to say that a few Zeds running in convoy does tend to grab attention and bring small villages to a halt :P

Does'nt look like I'll be able to make it, but I will be at the NE England one. I'm home for a couple of weeks in March, then I should be coming back here to Brazil during April, May & June.

Hope the meet happens if I can be there I'll be there, if not have a great day. :driving:

I should be okay for any of those

All sounding good

I'll leave it a couple of days and see if anyone else posts up. Dates so far are still looking good. I've got a route in mind, but it's only a suggestion - anyone with ideas post them up. The route I have in mind is approx 4hrs/155miles of actual driving according to googlemaps, might be a bit long for some? Starting and finishing at Stirling Services, up to Dunkeld via Crieff, lunch in Dunkeld, back via Aberfoyle and the Dukes Pass, all A/B road, NO dual-carriageway/motorway :driving:

Nice route A11y, Should be some nice photo Ops, Was reading through Spokeys Cruise Guides and i think he makes some very wise suggestions in there, Maybe we should heed some of the advice and look to make the Meet on a Sunday. Either way, You can put me down as a definate (Unless i total the car before then) and should have the front bumber resprayed before then as well. Also the Mrs insists that she is coming along as well

Best date for me would be 25th (Been Paid by then)

Yep I was reading that too (after looking through the NE meet thread) and very useful points made. Given that a few of us will probably bring partners, I thought that sort of distance might be a bit far, but 4hrs of driving over the course of the day isn't too bad, is it?

Right, lets do this...

I'm about to post a new thread with full details of a meet - please see the details HERE :)
