Scottish meet - 7/8th August 2010 - Skye!

i just had a quick look on auto route, this would be 1000 miles round trip, bit too far
Yes but the location looks stunning doesn't it - I'll get back to you after speaking to wife / work. Possible 4 day week-end with Pawn (separate rooms though heh!)

Just awaiting a reply from the hotel about room availability for the dates of 31st July and also 6th August - hopefully be able to set the date very soon

It's be great to have folk travelling up from down south, it's a long way but the scenery makes it worthwhile

Sorry all - got too excited too early - apparantly I'm already committed until the B/H week-end so will miss this. :( I'll keep an eye out for future trips though (and maybe pinch the route for a long week-end away with the misses) :) . Have a good one.

OK, here's the reply from the hotel:

"Hi

At present we are pretty full on 31st July but we do have rooms available on 7th August. The rates are £59 per person per night and includes breakfast. With regards to campsite there is no way of making a reservation however it is very unlikely that it is full.

Regards"

Now, I'm happy camping and hence can do either the 31st July/1st Aug weekend or the 7th/8th August, but what about the rest of you guys? I'm aware the 7th/8th weekend doesn't suit everyone, but if some folk would prefer hotel luxury rather than living with the poor then it'll have to be 7th/8th Aug.

Thoughts folks? I'm easy (wahey!) for both those weekends.

Excellent. My wife should be off work 31st/1st and has also requested the 7th/8th off (it's the first weekend after staff changover and she'd normally be rotored to work she thinks).

Keen to hear what everyone else can make...

I'm guessing she works in the NHS then? Most doctors change the first Wednesday in August.

I'd love to come to this - would have preferred the first weekend but should be able to make either. :driving:

OK folks, I was waiting for folk to feedback about dates - we've had a few so I'd like to propose we make it the weekend of 7th & 8th August :)

Rather than post the details again here, I'll amend my FIRST POST in this thread - makes it easier to keep all the info together. I'll also start a list of who's going in the first post.

Please post up again to confirm you're coming along, or PM me.

Also, you need to decide between camping (for the banter) or the hotel (for the softies ). See the first post for details of how to book the hotel.

Any questions, post up or PM me
Ally :)

Right, I'm up for it. Just need to make sure I have that weekend off. Will hopefully know by end of this week.

nosa - added to list :)

JimmyPop - added you as provisional, confirm when you can (BTW your car looks like the twin of mine...)

Ally, from what I've read, you organise a good meet... and set a decent pace :driving: The photos from your trip out looked awesome, mate

I'd be up for this - depending on dates, but it looks like great fun  Second weekend would probably suit me better, but I think I'll just tag along if I can to whatever you guys arrange... odd feeling I am meant to be somewhere else :?

If I can make it I think I'd possibly be looking at a 4 day weekend... just putting that out there in case anyone else from the "south" fancies it.

Isle of Skye and Kyle of Lochalsh are my two favourite areas in Scotland.
Depending on the wallet, I'd be very much up for this.
