This thread is making some interesting reading.
As an Englishman exiled in Scotland there are currently few things that would cause me to move back to England but this is one of them, having said that I am from the North East and at times am driven mad by the attitude of a great number of people who seem to think England stops at the Watfod gap and to live outside the M25 you must be some kind of troglodite.
It has been touched on in this thread and you can see by the contributors that anyone with even a small amount of common sense can see the pitfalls in indepence even if they agree with it in principle, problem is reading into Salmonds policies he's going after the Jeremy Kyle watchers and bottom feeders with no intelligence and think Bravheart is historically accurate. Lets not forget England has been invaded by the Romans, the Anglo Saxon's, the Vikings and finally the Normans when if you where a Briton you were a second class citizen so it could be argued that the invasions and persecutions that went on in Scotland were actually French led and not English.
As for the money thing, the thing I have I noticed is the further south you go the harder it is to spend it and try spending a £100 note anywhere, I don't think there is anything more sinister in it than they are just not used to seeing it and therefore have no idea whether it's real or not nor does it help that there are 3 issuing banks each with there own banknotes.
If you ran a buisness and a guy came in to buy a newspaper and tried to pay with NI banknote would you take it? It's legal tender but it's the same thing you just don't see enough of them to know if it's real or not.
