Afternoon folks, hopefully someone on here with more coding/programming experience than me can help....
My Z4 is throwing up some faults on the SBSL module which appear to relate to it being faulty and needing reprogrammed. I don't have the codes to hand just now but will add them to this later when I'm home.
The strange thing is I seem to be able to communicate withe the supposedly faulty module and can reset the codes in DIS or ISTA-D but they come back after cycling the ignition again.
Last night I fired up SSS Progman and carried out a module update, it did show as the part number having been changed and then successfully updated and completed with no issues confirming it had now carried out the part number update (I assume it may be that the module was swapped before I bought the car but hadn't been updated)
One of the codes however does flag up in ISTA-D stating that the module is either faulty or needs to be programmed. I have a suspicion that this is actually the main problem and is the reason for all the other SBSL codes.
My question therefore is what do I do in SSS to "program" the module? I had assumed that doing the update on it would program it as well but now realise this might not be the case.
I am very comfortable in using ISTA-D, DIS, INPA and NCSExpert for changes such as turning features on and off but have never fully recoded a module or programmed one using SSS, WINKFP or similar. I do also have ISTA-P but it does not work with my D+KCAN Cable so I am restricted to using either SSS, NCSExpert or WinKFP but need some guidance from someone who may have done this before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
