is there a (program/software update) way of getting the nav screen to display true road speed from the GPS? I know it can be seen on the GPS sub menu but I want it on the nav screen. What would be really useful is to have it in both Kmh and mph...

I know of nothing to display that. I'd point you to X5world.com and look there for ideas in the Nav forum. That's where I learnt all about Sat Nav on the Bimmers as the X5 is the same system and the Z4. If anyone knows their gurus will.

Quick question for UK Sat Nav upgraders- is it the operating system update or the latest maps (or both) you need in order to be able to search using the 5 character postcode?

Operating system update makes it work smarter and gives perspective view. You need a new map disc to get the traffic info working and for newer maps.

Has anyone gotten the latest map 09-01 to work when adding speed cams with Pimp-My-Nav?

I've tried 5 DVDs from the original and tried 3 different PCs, 2 different brands of DVD (Ritek and Prodisc) and all burnt at 1x speed.

Every DVD I create works fine for navigation, but the information screens are blank when I try to switch the cameras (or any other POI) on - the original DVD works fine.

havent tried adding the cams as i havent got pimp and cudnt find a link to the pocketgps files.. was going to leave it a while and look for a new torrent.

how far did you get ? does it show the cams in the menu ?

i have an old working dvd with cams on it for the uk.. could try swapping the files for a test..
