So it appears sand from the Sahara desert was deposited in last nights showers....only thing is my blue car now looks beige.... :tumbleweed:

Just spent 2 hours cleaning it yesterday too :headbang: ....anyone else also been given this gift from africa?

Need to get it off as well as I was on-site yesterday and when returning to the car it was covered in it :(

Mine also up in Yorkshire - wondered what it was - makes a black car look filthy

Yep after washing the zed last night woke up this morning to it being covered in red sand! Oooh joy i give up with this crazy weather lately, maybe its time to purchase a Land Rover with a snorkle fitted

Driving home last night and noticed how bad it was in the sun, so how are you supposed to get rid of it without worsening the finish on my paint?

Snow foam applied via a proper snow foam lance and jet wash if you have access those would be the safest bet, failing that a thorough jet wash at your local petrol station self wash would be what i would do

Have a karcher, but didn't think that hitting sand with 100 or so Bar would be a great idea :idunno:

ive just removed mine on my lunch break, used a jet wash and turned the nozzle to spray, just let it all run off...what a PITA! why cant we have saharan sun instead!

I think if you use snow foam it will help the sand slide off when jet washed, when I snow foam it doesnt seem to hit the car with that much pressure

Yep Z covered in very fine sand here... waiting for the temp to drop, its 23c here atm, dripping off me, then its snow foam time...

I know that if i wash it off today it's going to get more dropped on it overnight

Swirls ahoy!

Just wipe it off with a damp sponge, yeah? :tumbleweed:

I used to be normal before joining this place, the word swirl associated with a nice flowing skirt not a car

yeah and other nuances like "stubby" would have conjured completely different images in my head too before I came here! :poke:

As to the sponge.......you could give it a go but don't put any pressure whatsoever....nurse that sand off!
