SamP’s Z4 refresh 2006 3.0si

Looks really good after a wash

Will be interesting to see it with the new wheels fitted - though, those MV2s are looking good with a clean now.

I like the exhaust trims. Can I ask where you got them from?

Hey Zedtastic,

I got the following, really easy to fit, came in a fancy box. Quality is ok but for the price can’t grumble.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017XLG2H8?ref_=pe_3187911_248764861_302_E_DDE_dt_1

I think they are out of stock at the moment.

Thanks for the link.

Today my new wing mirror covers arrived... the start of lots of carbon fibre! Yay.

Also, coated the wheels and sorted the centre bmw caps.

It is MOT time tomorrow for the Zed and as all I have ever owned in the past is TVR's and Alfa's this is a scary event... wish me luck! :o

You've got good taste - those Vee's are going to look mint once fitted! I considered those as well, but ended up going for the V-FS33's.

Today... car dropped off at Gilbert’s BMW and my new tips arrived... in the fanciest box ever.
Can I ask where you ordered these from? I could do with replacing mine...

Sailed through the MOT. Went to German Motor Co opposite Jo Macari. Had a lovely time! Good garage too and only a mile up the road.

Really enjoying my new wheels, they feel excellent on the road. Very minor difference to the 18’s but still great over London’s speed bumps and general terrible roads.

My neighbour has the latest Mazda MX5 which I think is a good looking current car. The thing that struck me was how the Z4 didn’t look 15 years older at all. Such a great design IMO and I’m loving ownership!

Is it me being biased, MX5 looks older? Love to hear people’s thoughts.

Massive thank you to Steve (srhutch) for doing a superb job, great attention to detail and a top bloke.

Liking the wheels 8) they look similar to 224's, so suit the z4 shape well

Hey Ben,
My thoughts exactly. The line of the spoke actually replicated the main line of the cars profile. Such a good looking car these Z4’s

I'd not spotted this thread till today, looking good!
I love those Veemans on your car, they look great. I think Mr Wilks had them on his silver M at some point and they looked great on that too. What tyre sizes did you go with, I take it you haven't had any rub etc? I'm toying with moving up to 19s too. Don't get me wrong I love the 107s on my car but when you see pics like this you realize the 107s do look dated now and consequently age the car. How;s the ride in comparison to your 18s.
Have to completely agree regarding the MX5. I know I'm biased but I really do think the E85/6 has aged really well, much better than their Audi TT/ Porsche Boxster competitors of a similar vintage.
The MV2 looked pretty good on your car too, the picture just after you washed it, did it still have the spacers on then? I'm contemplating putting the spacers back on mine now I've managed to get rid of my tram-lining issue with new front tyres. I only took them off to see if they were part of the problem.

Would love a drive out at some point, if you’re ever short of numbers!

Mr Wilks did, promise at the time I had no idea!

Tyre sizes for the 19's are front: 235/35/R19 rear: 265/30/R19, Yokohama Advan Sports. I must say I love the 107's and don't think they look dated at all. If I went back down to 18's that is what is going on my car.

The ride at low speed is the same (up to 30ish) and when pushing on feels good. Under load around corners no rubbing touch wood. It is early doors with these and since fitting 19's I had a few bits done which means it needs a proper alignment. With my 19's it does follow big cambers a bit more but this may be due to the alignment needing to be done properly.

I have always had spacers on with the MV2's and think the car looks great like that. M sport suspension, 18's with good tyres, bit of powerflexing on the front and a good alignment and these cars are excellent.
