Sad day but a good day..said bye bye to the original Yellow Peril

Lucky, lucky girl driving that beast at her age.

I had to put up with a dirt brown Austin Allegro. At least my son lucked out with a z4.

Her sister got a SLK Merc …

Sad news Peter. :(

But then you do have your new project now and the new owner of your original Yellow Peril looks made up so there is an upside!

So why sell it and not the 35is if the 35i is better balanced and has enough power...? :?

Good question….would have saved me the £10k+ I’ve spent so far on the 35is

Glad to see it went to a good home and hopefully a new forum member
Presuming it's the girl from Birkenhead who put a wanted thread up.
The insurance premium for that car with all the 'mods' at 18 must be more than I earn in a year. Fair play to her!

I think she’s in the day dreamer time waster category..

This lady was a sharp cookie..clocked up her first years no claims with her Focus..having a black box fitted ….

Strange irony for a 300bhp car…suspect she will be enjoying out ranking the boys down the high school..

Yes true..it was a non solvable equation to have two Yellow E89s…well it was for SWMBO…

Bit like a great girlfriend that for whatever reasons you parted…so onwards with the 35is…

I’ll feel better once I’ve bonded over the winter in my nice new garage being built in May n June..

Fair play to you Pete; got shot of it, eventually. :poke: :D

Do you think her dad would consider adopting me? I am no trouble; honest. :)

Well I wasn’t willing to discount the car…I figured if I was offered this week £13,500 by a dealer without prior inspection that the market for ‘marmite’ cars is picking up as the sun warms up…

For me, the money is just going to be cash in a zero percent bank account…so why discount when a bit of patience results in a sale.

Same with my Jeep..long wait but got the full asking price..another lady now driving it on a beach in Cornwall.

Ref your candidacy having seen the sister’s picture and not having (yet) seen a picture of you I suspect that it may be a tough sell……

You had a poo brown allegro too???

I thought it was just me

The wing mirrors folded in at 50mph
I thought the leather rebound straps on the rear suspension were quaint, even then; and the oil light used to come on round corners.

Peter, that is by far the best and funniest line (so far) I have seen you type on this forum. Absolute classic for me. Keep it up.

Well you know what they say about power corrupting, etc.!

Since I got my MC I'm finding I have an amber light flashing quite often with just 340bhp - good luck finding some traction!

But I think my right foot may be a factor.

I can't imagine an 18 year old girl being a regular amongst us bunch of 'coffin dodgers', can you?
Maybe the Z4 is generating a new following from younger owners, I did read this week that Brooklyn Beckham said "The BMW Z4 is probably the meanest car I’ve ever seen" and “cool and dangerous” were the words also used to describe it – and “the most mind-blowing car I've ever seen.” Ok, he was talking about the G29......

Quite so…we’ll see what the tuning chap says once we’ve installed the TTE500 turbos plus all the uprated plumbing..

I’m thinking of pegging it around 500 BHP crank with due regard to the head bolts which are stock.

I’ll cope with 400 BHP for the summer and just accept the limitations that brings.. :tumbleweed:

Any more pictures of the sale.

I’m guessing the father would have drawn the line at Peter taking photo’s of the new owner inspecting the engine closely whilst leaning in ‘Daisy Duke’ style
