Sad day but a good day..said bye bye to the original Yellow Peril

Good to hear you’re sold the original yellow peril, I’m sure the new owner will enjoy it and have many miles of trouble free hooning

So, this wasn't the girl from the forum that asked you all the questions about the car?

Nope…

I have to say on all the cars I’ve ever sold I’ve never had so many day dreamers and time wasters as I did on this one…

I realise I dug myself a hole with all the mods, but I n€ver anticipated selling it..

Still it’s really embarrassing, after 5 years of faultless roof operation and several cycles yesterday during the demos they managed to get the roof stuck..not sure if the novelty of endlessly cycling it cause that…AND…for some strange reason they say the heating system was pumping red hot air out on the driver’s side ..despite being set on cold…again..never had any issues with that..

Must be upset at leaving home…

Glad to see it went to a good home and hopefully a new forum member
Presuming it's the girl from Birkenhead who put a wanted thread up.
The insurance premium for that car with all the 'mods' at 18 must be more than I earn in a year. Fair play to her!

I think she’s in the day dreamer time waster category..

This lady was a sharp cookie..clocked up her first years no claims with her Focus..having a black box fitted ….

Strange irony for a 300bhp car…suspect she will be enjoying out ranking the boys down the high school..
Putting any 19yr old in a 300BHP car is a good way to lose your kids

Girl is 18 I believe.

At 18 you can only ride a 125cc motorcycle. At 19 you can ride a bike up to 46.6hp after passing the relevant test, then after two years continuous riding you can ride any bike. To do the direct access route to ride any bike you have to be over 24.

Yet there are no restrictions on a 17 year old driving any car.

Are they making an issue of it?

No seemed just confused..fortunately…Dad has had a plethora of hot poop motors so doesn’t seem fussed..

I suggested Zed Shed as a POC…

Looks they overheated the pump motor playing around with the roof…as I said never had any issues with the roof in 5 years..sod’s law..

The hot air on one side seems very weird..

As long as they can get tech support I think they will be fine..both issues can only be sensor related , at worse..

Could it be the little hot/cold roller switch on the dash set to red?

The roller switch affects both sides equally, with dual heating controls maybe they’ve set one side only to a high temp?

I had this occasionally on my old one - it seemed to be related to low battery charge when the car wasn't used that much.... it was just a temporary glitch that settled down once it got back to normal levels of charge.

I couldn’t remember which vents the little roller controls and wondered if they had the drivers side open and they passenger side closed and feeling the cold from the screen or footwell vents on the passenger side.

I have had the overheated pump motor when my roof was playing up - the RAC guy was cycling it like mad, 15 minutes to cool down and all ok again.

The blower seems very odd almost like a servo is sticking
