The S2000 used to ok, the engine might rev to 9k, but it’s gutless lower down the rev range. You constantly have to make use of the gear shift which is a novelty at first, but it soon becomes tiresome after a while, even though it’s slick to use
Then there is the overall look, the car is horribly dated now, it looked good in late nineties, but the front end is too pointy, the overall shape is very feminine and bit gay looking imo
The interior is very driver focused, but feels very flimsy and looks/is cheap, the dash is a joke, like something out of ‘knight rider’ and the steering has no feel what so ever.
It’s a car that doesn’t quite deliver in a few key area, steering feedback, interior quality, engine flexibility, it basically feels like a flimsy toy compared to the German stuff.
Honda haven’t really updated the S2000 (there has been minors change to the wheels, bumpers and suspension), which really shows when you compare it to more modern rivals, it’s dropped behind the competition due to lack of development
