At the moment am running a 23imsport and am thinking of an upgrade two a 35imsport are these hugly more expensive to run aside from petrol, tax and insurance which I have factored in as this will probably be my long term retirement car so may as well get a hum dinger 8)
You've considered fuel, tax and insurance. Other than depreciation these are the main running costs. Are you referring to servicing and warranty costs (these may be marginally higher)?
Mean long term really Maniac not worryed about tyres and will get a service pack for 5yrs but I know they are a bit more complicated Turbos etc and how much do you get to the gallon?
I wouldn't get hung up on MPG figures, everyone drives differently, in different traffic and different roads. For what its worth, mainly local driving I get 25mpg.
Provided you keep up any warranty, your long term costs will be just that as that will cover turbo failure if it ever happens. I think you've already identified the main running costs. As for not worrying about tyres.. you do realise they're between £220 and £300 a corner if running 19's right? The 35i has larger rears.
Yes have 19ins on the 23i which will need changing soon so am well aware they are £300 a corner at the rear another reason to change wilst the good deals are on and put the £6oo towards a new one.
It does look good but just cant get my head round a Orange car must be cause of my age  I think its the dogs in any colour but will see if the deals there probably look at the 28i also but 4cyl dont make the right noise for me.
The 28i does move well. But from what I've seen on here, its not quite as frugal as BMW would like you to believe. The sound from the 35i is great, esp if you disable the silencer flap on one side as I have. Pop it in sports and the DCT in combo with the N54 makes such loud rasps and pops, makes you smile. Probably annoys pedestrians too.. bonus!
