As I reach 60 in October I am a bit 70s and it was a cheap option which hope will help when the sun is low, car is all Black in and out even thinking about black grills what do you think, with regard to washing it hope to have more time for that when retirement comes in the next year or two.
Got black grilles on black car and they make it look more appealing than the chrome oem as standard...
just back from Loch Lomond and the 3.0 averaged 31.5 round trip of 600 mile... not hanging about either... well impressed.
congrats on your 3.5 hang on to your hat lol
All round black (grills etc) could look a little 'rice' as the americans say, not a look I like personally as it reminds me of the modded Vauxhall Corsa brigade. Looks good in a magazine but in real life can look a bit meh... BMW did a good job styling this car, I'm not messing with it too much.
I prefer a slightly more sophisticated look, sporty but elegant.
At least with a black interior, you've only half the upkeep I have. White inside and black outside is the most work EVER.
I've not driven a 123 and you can't really compare turbo diesels (if thats what it is) to turbo petrols, its a very different animal.
But as a comparator to the 23i, the 35i (at least when run in) will make the 23i feel like it weighs 4 tons. Yes the 35i is quick, quicker than you'll ever likely need.
As an example of how quick, a few days ago I merged into lane 2 from lane 3 of a 3 lane carriageway that turns to 2 lanes after a set of lights. 5 cars back, I'm rolling in an empty lane 3 towards the lights at 10mph as the lights changed. Kickdown = full power took me past 5 cars just setting off in lane 2 from the lights, covered 100 feet in less than two seconds and merged in. Looked back in the mirror to see cars way back. Like a rocket..
