RS focus!

Here's an idea, buy a "spare" key off ebay or the like and leave it lying around while your real keys are tucked safely away. Anyone breaks in they pinch the obvious dummy key and get confused as hell when they try and pinch your pride and joy!

They would then probably assume you have some clever high level additional security and leave you well alone in the future.

Probably wishful thinking!

If you wake to find someone threatening you or your family if you dont hand over the keys.........something I hope to avoid

Bad idea as my mate found out. He used to hide his keys for his Cheshire approved white Merc. Thieves couldn't find his keys so three of them woke him and his wife up with a kettle full of boiling water. :o He now leaves them in full view in the hallway.

Or stick it in the garage if you have one, amazes me when people have their car nicked off their drive whilst their garage is full of junk.

Tim.

I'm with you Tim. £20k sat on the drive with £500 worth of crap in the garage, most of which could be thrown out. Where my mate lives on ones of those ghastly new build estates, they pay £20k to convert their integral garages into a 'play room' ie kids toy cupboard, madness!

i don't understand with all the prestige cars why the fiesta ST is the go to target at the moment... its only a breathed on fiesta at the end of the day... kinda off putting tbh because it seems like its more of a matter of time that ill have my own attempt.

Its simple. With a £50 device bought online, the local chavs can blast around in someone elses pride and joy without drawing attention to themselves due to a smashed window or bent door and then dump it or its taken to be stripped to 'upgrade' lesser festers via ebay or gumtree. Ford need a shoeing over their security. At the station all the ST's have 1990s wheel locks. :D

As Matt says, they don't need your key to pinch them. Most are going the same way BMW's were stolen with the ODB device.

Fiesta ST and Golf R's seem to be very popular with the scummers. Id imagine Focus RS's will be the same

the golf Rs at least put up a fight... Ford have no released AN ADDITIONAL security device that basically puts the OBD in a lockable box... unreal. As mentioned before pretty much every ST fiesta you see on the street has a steering lock ... laughable tbh.

I like the transporter movie Audi pin access code idea, surprised you don't see that in cars at the moment.
Or the Keaton batmobile shield, but that would add weight to the car :P

Had that on both of my Peugeots from the 90s - 106 and 306 GTI :D

would easily be my pick if I needed 4 seats and a boot - slightly disappointed that they didn't turn up the lairy a little more though

Something just appeals to be about a lairy focus even though I'm not a fan of hot hatches. Although with these being mass produced they loose some of the want of the old RS but they make up for in balls out performance though!

makes me wonder if we've reached a motoring peak though  hard to see what else they'll be able to extract out of hatches that perform like sportscars less than 10 years ago, sportscars that perform like supercars and supercars that go like hypercars (not to go off topic but the M760. wow.)

Put my deposit down on one about 6 weeks ago..... :D .... In theory won't arrive until Feb 17 ..... Magnetic grey, all the options.
Bought the Z to be an alternative and complete contrast (also to my Current V40-D4 Redesign) as a run around and summer cruiser, so I don't have to use the RS everyday... It's going to be epic !! :driving:
