Inspired by [ref]jock156[/ref]’s new blue roof, I decided to have a go at recolouring mine. However, being a cautious fellow, I am testing Furniture Clinic’s roof dye on some samples (kindly provided by Jock) first.
1. Start with roof sample (note white spot)

2. Wet it

3. Paint with dye

4. Dry with hairdryer

5. Apply second coat

6. Final compare

Verdict: this is supposed to be a “dark blue” dye. Coverage is excellent and even and the fabric looks much cleaner as a result, however under the kitchen lights it still looks black. Only when compared to the original you realise how un-black the native colour is and can get a sense of the blue.
I’ll definitely give it a go. It won’t be as good or as blue as Jock’s, but for an improvement on a budget it’s worth a try.
