Hi all,
Man, am I feeling down!! I had the roof motor problem, followed shipkillers instructions to get the roof out, change the motor and then put the roof back in. All was going fairly well until it came to the point of putting the roof back into the car. IT just wouldn't go in. We had to be careful as the motor housing was being stressed quite a bit when attempting to fit it in, it almost snapped, and we fastened it to the roof with extra cable ties to ensure it remained stationary.
The problem we kept having is that the roof wouldnt clip into the clips on the car and we ended up with the roof not sitting properly in its housing and the sides not going down. I have had to now give up, the roof is in a limbo position in the car and I am going to have to call a mechanic tomorrow for an SOS mission - I am getting ready for the shock of the cost of getting it fixed - I am at the mercy of the mechanic now
So the moral, well for me at least, is know your limits!! I think the roof job was beyond me
