Roof Motor in Wales

Hi all
Is there anywhere or anyone in south wales near swansea area that can relocate my roof motor to the boot for a tidy price before it drowns it's self.

No5 usually chips in on these posts when he spots them, well versed in relocating the motors, I did mine myself and took a lot longer than the other guys who offer their services, however after doing mine I reckon another one would be a lot faster. The biggest problem is getting into the plastic housing the motor sits in as the lid is taped to the base and is very difficult to get off. The plastic container is also held in with zip ties and difficult to see in the depths of the well it sits in. I ended up using a long lever poked into the lid joint and using a pivot point in the boot levered the whole thing upwards so the ties broke and released the motor container. Once those ties were free it was simple to lift the unit up and back into the boot to relocate. My motor and pump were ok so it was just a relocation. Another tricky part is reattaching the parcel shelf retaining clips, they only go in one way and are a bit of a stretch to get them clipped back in given the room you have to work in. If No5 dosn't show up and your desperate give me a shout if you want me to have a go. No5 is your best bet if you have any problems with your motor or pump as he can revive them and has spares.

Yes I’m happy to do it but can’t do anything during September as I’m away a lot.

Drop me a PM if you like

Thanks very much colb for your kind offer but mine is also working fine so i will see if number5 can fit me in sometime in October.

Prudent in getting it relocated, Number5 will do it much quicker than me given the amount he has sorted now. Once its in the boot it brings peace of mind and should anything go wrong far easier to get at to sort.

I dd mine myself but modified the plastic boot lhs to enable the pipes and cables to pass through.
One tip you might think of shorterm, is to remove the drain plug located behind the arch liner to stop is filling up. I removed mine and left it out. If you want to see the finished job, pm me and we could get a coffee between Neath & Swansea maybe.
