Roof damage

So swapping the roof over from your 2.0 before u sell it is not an option?

Apart from the fag burn, the rest is OK by the look of it. The drainage holes are meant to be there

i seem to have one each side same dimensions on the other side, strange, same distance from the front, same distance in from the edge, asymmetrically identical

A 3 in spanner rating I would say and two people is better than one for lifting roof off and then putting back on

No I'm guessing the pictures might have been put on using photobucket and that stopped working when they made you pay for it

Though strangely some PB links still seem to work https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=51205

RW, also consider sametime
- which roof motor is in the best condition
- relocate motor to the boot
- totally flush the drains

.... & suggest doing a complete How To write up with new pictures to become immortalised as the new Shipkiller

I had a thought. Testing for clogged drain holes by pouring water in is rather like sticking your finger in a light socket to see if the fuse has gone. So I wondered if blasting it with a powerful wet/dry might be better, and how do you clean it anyway?

I cleaned the sunroof drains in my RS4 with a spare throttle cable that I fed into each of the drain holes until the end of it appeared in the respective rear wheel arch, ejecting accumulated leaf debris and mud with it. That would probably work for the Zed roof drains too.

I used net curtain wire, it’s a bit fiddly though! :o
Rob

With RW’s plans to take the whole roof off, it’ll be as easy as poking a lady of the night.

Could also be a firework or small part of one still hot. Had that before on a saloon roof
It won’t leak as the waterproof membrane is below
I’d seek expert opinion as it needs something flexible that can be textured. Anything else will look crap. I know as I sewed up a 12” slash in my Jeep roof then applied repair liquid. Invisible as it’s 7’ in the air :)

You only need a small amount of water to check for impending Armageddon on the drain front-no need to deploy a whole tsunami down there :P
Don’t forget that when it rains or when you wash the car it’s going to see more water than that anyway! :o
