Explains the 'rarity' then.
I do smile at the way the word 'rare' is portayed as something special on used cars, when it just meant 'unpopular' when new.
I had a 'rare' white 1992 318is. When I bought it, the dealer really played up the 'rarity'. When it came to selling the dealers said no-one wanted them in white!

I think if you polish the jet black it will give a deeper shine and a nicer mirror effect than the black sapphire. I have seen an e39 painted in jet black and it looked amazing, way more shiny than my Z4. Both were polished of course.

Spot on! Apparently one of only 6 coupes that came to the UK in Jet Black 668 or Schwarz 2 as its officially known - making it the rarest colour a UK E86 was available in.

And there was me thinking it was just another black coupe not realising it deserved a place near the top of the rare colour register.

Anyway if you send me your details I'll get the dustcaps sent out - did I mention that the winner has to cover P&P costs? :rofl:

Still got the Z4MR mate it's the coupe I sold :rofl:
 
Mine is the only 1 thats Saph black with brushed ali dash (but Ive just wrapped it) and grey seats that I have just swapped for E89 ones!

So as rare as the OP :slaphead:
 
Mine is sapphire black and I wish it was something, anything else, this color is boring :roll: jet black at least has that deep mirror shine. Saph has these sparkles that totally kill the mirror effect.
