Hey all,

I was wondering. If I want to do a roadtrip within the EE (Italy, Austria, France) what papers do I need for the car apart from my drivers license? :driving:

V5 = car paper that proves you are the owner.

Don't know which country you are from as each country has different requirements (insurance certificate etc)

Warning triangle, first aid kit (possibly depending on country), Motorway Vignet

Uh ... passport :)

Also your V5 (or copy)

Passport not really needed cause I can use ID :P :poke:

Whats a V5 (Not from the UK)

V5 is your log book never driven in Italy or Austria but in France you need

V5
Driving licence including paper part
Insurance paperwork

You also need to carry

High Vis vests for both driver and passenger and make sure they are in the cabin not the boot

First Aid Kit

Warning Triangle

Spare Bulb Kit

Self Breathalyzer Kit

They will check for these if you get stopped

First time I hear for the Self Breathalyzer Kit. And also Spare bulb kit for? (Sry for dummy questions as It will be the first time when I do it)

The Eurotunnel website said:
you are required to carry a self-test breathalyser when driving in France but there is no current legislation demanding a fine for non-compliance. The official text states that one unused breathalyser must be produced. We recommend that 2 single-use breathalysers are carried, so that if one is used or damaged, you will still have a replacement to produce.

So French legislation says you should carry a breathalyser but, if you don't, they won't do anything about it... don't you just love the French....

I paid good money for two of those buggers, especially as a non drinker :(

I had no idea you had to carry all that with you when driving in France.

I would recommend you have Euros/cash on you too. As some road traffic offences are dealt with by on the spot fines. Card payment is not usually accepted, and the option would be, being escorted to a bank by a gendarme. I know I was that man lol. Yes the gendarme was on a BMW motorcycle and was armed, he escorted me and my car to the nearest bank and relieved me of 90€, for crossing a double white line!

You don't need spare bulbs or a first aid kit in France.

A link to what you need to carry in most EE countries.
