Roadster or Coupe?

I think you get both of these with roadster. I think, top down, the roadster looks better than the coupe. The coupe looks like a 3 door hatch....or a dog doing a jobby!

yeah, you're right. top down it is art....

The Zed car was conceived as a roadster. The idea is to have a two seater sports car with a convertible roof. The 2nd gen car moves away from the 'classic' roadster ideal by having a metal roof which is great for practicality but reduces the car's sporty image. More cruiser than Boxster.

The coupe was an afterthought. It's an attractive car but appeals to a limited market. BMW wouldn't have developed it as a stand alone model. As a coupe it's small and therefore has limited practicality when compared to other coupes for similar money. Not even a sunroof :(

Those who have Coupes will naturally defend them and they add a nice quirkyness to the Zed lineage. The flying breadvan M Coupe is perhaps the most extreme of them all. In the end though the Zed will be first and foremost a convertible. :)

Top down it does look very nice indeed but i still think the Coupe looks so much cooler. Seems more aggressive somehow.

I absolutely love the looks of the Coupe .... but wanted a convertible ! With the roof down and the engine noise I am in heaven .... shame all it seems to do is rain :D

is it true that more convertibles are sold in uk than in other european countries?

I think more are sold in the UK than France, Germany and Spain combined!

Now have a coupe!!

2 reasons, after having a drop top for 8 years I got cheezed off with the amount of time I got to enjoy the el frasco experience, and IMO the coupe just looks so much better. This is not always the case as I think the new TT - RS looks better in roadster variant, IMO.

Guys, check this out.
A 2007 for £20K?? What the hell did they get it in at?!

I think so...noboby here is going to swap, and we're all very comfortable that the other side is completely wrong, so may as well leave it there :D

now let's close this subject please  the Roadster gets the democratic count and that's all folks! :fuelfire:

Only because there was a far higher number of them made. The Coupe simply looks better, you all just have to accept it. Plus it's stiffer, and the MC has a faster steering rack than the MR and slightly different chassis settings and it looks better and it's more practical and it makes you coffee in the morning (pours out of the far right exhaust pipe after you dial in the super secret code in the onboard computer) and, and gets 67mpg. Yep, that's right it does. :crazydude:

Nice selection of Colin Chapman inspired racers there Gareth,

Yes, have had a thing for Lotus, but the MC is filling the void. Where do we go after this without spending £££££££££?. Your MC looks sweet, have you had her lowered?

Just to keep in the spirit of the OP, always liked the Coupe from launch which has the classic sports car look (long bonnet and sweeping back), e type, jenson interseptor etc. Don't get me wrong, the MR is a good looking car and when weather permitting big fun, but have done that been there!!

Reminds me of a Triumph GT6...though slightly bigger LOL
