Car looks like it's coming along fantastically, though looks like you CF wrapped your grab handles in the same way as me (thatch going in different directions) - according to Bing & srhutch, it's a Forum no-no & alegedly will bug you after a while - However, am still waiting for it to happen...

Anyway, does this now mean the car's now mechanically sorted so you'll finally be able to make it along to a hoon?

I've been told this is incorrect elsewhere too, but it doesn't bother me yet. As far as I can tell, I only have one to re-do, right?

I have enough spare to do it, so maybe I will :D

As for the hoon, yes, 100% mate, I have one last issue to find (the front end has felt a little loose for the last two days and I'm not sure what it could be), then I'll be fully sorted but even as it is, I think it's all good TBH. :driving: :driving: :driving: Sign me up!

We're twisting srhutch's arm to undertake the lead of an Autumn hoon, and, if he doesn't am thinking might start one from Kent that goes across into Surrey, ending somewhere between London & Portsmouth.

As for the loose front, we'll have to compare notes as I've changed the drop links fore & arft; tie rod ends; polybushed lollypops, ARB's & rear trailing arm (though haven't added the rings to stop additional play); rear shocks; 4 wheel alignment - it's about 95% of the way there but still not 100%. I'm only just down the road so PM me if you're about later in the week.

Looking good Rob

The c/f thing isn't a forum no-no, we were just winding Jembo up... But if you change it then you should change the window control on the same side as that goes a different way to the other too. Terrible symmetry Feng Shui, bad karma :poke: :P

Not having Aeros is bad Feng Shui as well...

The thread makes an exciting story, the car is getting younger with each update! Rispetto for your mechanical skills.

Keep the orange hockey sticks I am starting a rebellion

As for Friday I will be at the father in laws house most of the day. It's not far and still just off the A40 I will PM you some details later.

Looking forward to seeing your car. Hopefully might be a looking better by Friday

I will have a chat about the front end with you but I have an M3 anti roll bar it's made a difference.

I think I may have just finally killed a balljoint/the rubber in a lollipop so I'll probably just replace the lower arms and polybush the lollipops and be done with it :D :D

I'm definitely pro-rebellion Mat. We're starting something.

Thanks for all the nice comments all, makes the hard work worth while!

Thanks a lot mate, appreciated :-) the seats were a real stroke of luck tbh! I do love a picture

As for the wrap, ordered it off of eBay, just make sure it's genuine 3M di-noc

Well, I'm guessing I should probably update this again, a few things here and there, most importantly I now seem to have an actual full on collection of wheels.

I have:

4x 108's already split and awaiting a refurb
2x spare 108's with a couple of snapped bolts I think a member is having
8x 224's, yes two full sets...
4x style 32's that are on there now..

Need to get rid of some urgently.

So, in the interest of continuity:

Took the car for some low light photos:

The roof motor decided to fail, so I fixed that in my new work space, gave the car a full service, and took some pics with friends:

I also picked up some cupholders from a breaker in Scotland, 5 minutes and they were fitted:

With winter approaching I decided I fancied some winter wheels and tyres with the mileage I was doing, so I sent my style 32's off for a refurb:

Got them on the car: (they're no 224's I know, but a full set of part worn winters were <£200)

I then had a chance to get my hands on a royal steering wheels wheel, which of course I took:

Then, the other weekend I popped down a friends unit, decided it'd be rude not to wash the car and take a few pics of the others (quite a few "car friends" met up):

Sorry for the long update, if you make it this far, I applaud you! :poke:

Thanks for reading :)

Hello RJS-Z4

I'm guessing as you went to Stephen James at Ruxley you must be pretty near Sidcup
Swiftly is right about your exhaust trims
A couple of nice new chrome ones are not too expensive
Being in the carpet trade (Just retired actually but still have good contacts)
I can probably help with custom made mats if you like
I've just put the same carbon fibre on my door pulls and switches and other bits of interior trim
I'm still not clever enough with computers to post any pictures yet though

Sorry to hijack your thread but I love the 224s.
I have an 04 2.5 and know nothing about wheels, offsets etc.
Would 224s fit straight on
Thanks

Hi Ken, we spoke before! You live just around the corner from me! (I'm near the oval too)

I'll have to pop by and meet you as I'm very computer savvy and love a play about with the camera. Maybe we'll trade, I'll take all sorts of pictures with my camera and show you a a few bits and you could sort me out with some amazing mats? :)

Hi Andy, yep, straight fit. They give a lovely wide offset but go on no bother :)

The //M size tyres are actually bigger than standard 18's on the non //M z4, but they still go on, when replacing the tyres, I will be going with the slimmer non //M option though, hope that helps :)

Thanks for the info.
I've been looking at the possibility of upgrading to an E89 but I don't think my funds will quite stretch to it so a few upgrades might be on the cards. If I end up with a set of 224s, look out for a future question about tyre sizes!! :)

A friend linked me to them pictures of that ClioV6 and your Z4 on cliosport the other day, thought I recognised the car.

Steering wheel looks a big improvement.
