RHD power steering motor to left hand drive LHD?

Coding Right hand drive RHD power steering motor to left hand drive LHD, has anyone succeeded?
If you search the forum I'm pretty sure there was someone who tried coding. It didn't work. The motor turns the opposite way.
Somewhere in that thread they detailed how they swapped two wires over to reverse the direction.
Pretty sure that's all it needed.

In here I think:

Thanks. Swapping the wires seems to work and is safe?

Interestingly, if you remove the motors cover and are (mechanically) able to replace it in a 180 degree angle, it always turns the opposite way without cablework or coding.
That's interesting. I have a u/s motor here. I may go and have a look later................... when it's not like the surface of the sun in my garage!!!

The intended turning direction of an e-motor is depending on the magnetic polarisation in the cover.

I've stumbled several times over hydraulic pumps of the hardtop convertibles which got disassembled and faulty reassembled by it's owner with the result, that the complete hydraulic system worked inverse. The source of this very unlogic behaviour was a wrongly mounted cover.

Yup. I see now. So remove the spinning part and put it back in 180 degrees out.
Worth a play when I'm bored one day.
