Retrofit Cruise Control

kartman - if you pm me an email address I can even send you the BMW retrofit instructions that detail the parts required for a post 10/04 model.

They clearly show exactly the differences pre and post the change date and the harness required.

Dealers sometimes do have idiots on the desk. This week on ordering a new bracket for the wing/bumper mount I was called to be advised my roof bars were now in stock

My bad - never even bothered to read the whole post

guys whats the part number for the extra loom needed for post-04 cars?

sk93 - needs putting in the original post if we find it, otherwise this is limited and people can only use the whole retrofit kit.

the part number is 61 12 0 411 248.
It's been added to the OP are requested, however I don't know the part, and as I reemed of a list of over 30 parts to Sytner earlier, I don't think they'll be very helpful if I ring back today with another price quote :P

Yup.. the TIS doesn't let you break down the kit far enough...

thanks for the price.. but what's coopers site? :D

that part number isnt in the TIS though...

according to cooper's site though it is £20.70

thats look like the pirce my dealer has quoted me for the loom, but dont forget your 10%

I'm about to book my car in to BMW to fit my CC kit, but just wondered if anybody has successfully managed to retrofit to a post 10/04 Z4? Did it need to be coded?

Defo does not need to be coded.

Im 95% there on my 2006 3.0si N54 engine.
I just need to stick the wire into the CORRECT pin in the DME but awaiting confirmation before i do so.

The rest of it is a doddle if your OK with cutting, stripping and crimping wires - oh and your eyesight is good!!

That's the wrong engine for the facelifts though... Their's is N52.
Well... that'll teach them to buy the wrong year.
(I'll see if I can di up another, but not promising nowt!)

Does anybody know where I can get hold of one of these stacks and how much they cost?

Also, how much would a dealer & independant charge to supply and fit?

Thanks!

... and fit?
Thanks!

Quoted install time on the instructions is an hour, so you'd be looking at an hours labour from your friendly (st)ealer... whats than now.. £80 to £100?
If you're near me, Pay me £70 and I'll do it for you :P

Thanks for the offer, but I'm fairly confident I can do it myself!

I was reading the BMW fitting instructions. One of the preparatory steps they list is to disconnect the negative pole of the battery. This isn't mentioned on this how to guide. Is it necessary?
