Got in my car this morning to go to work and noticed a metallic jingling noise from the rear offside while hitting bumps (there are plenty), wasn't there yesterday so was strange. Anyway, I found out what it was on the way home as I heard whatever it was hit the road and disappear. Went and retrieved the broken piece of spring out of the road :x
Question is mainly where can I get an identical specification replacement ASAP? I've found one listed on Eurocarparts but it's not clear if it's a BMW OE one or aftermarket, i'd rather aftermarket for obvious reasons but just need it sorted quickly, its £67. It's saying you should replace both at the same time too. I don't want to lower the car at all. The other question is to what extent can I still drive the car with a broken spring? How easy are they to replace yourself, is there a guide anywhere? Sorry I don't have time to scour the entire broken spring thread, only online briefly.
Cheers all.
