Replacement brake parts - recommendations

My Z4 lives off road in the winter , but before it gets back out I need to do the brakes really, pads are well worn and the rear discs in particular are looking a little poorly!
Looking for good quality discs n pad suggestions that won’t rust within a month and neither “brake” the bank .....sorry!

Will do full set of discs , pads and handbrake shoes etc since it’s in bits.

Car is 2003 E85 3.0i SE .

Thanks in advance.

Pagid discs and pads from ECP. Good quality, reasonably priced and still look good 5 years later. If you use ECP, make sure you use a discount code!

Not sure about the handbrake shoes, they're effectively a non wearing part, unless you drive with the handbrake on, or it's adjusted incorrectly.

I used ATE discs from ECP. They have the silver coating, so dont rust. I believe they are OE equipment on the Z4. I would have used ATE pads, but at the time ECP didn't have them, so I used Brembo pads.

Better still, if you can wait a few days then use carparts4less.co.uk same company and usually cheaper, but mail order.

The coating stops them rusting in storage, but once you start using them you'll find they'll rust/corrode like any disc.

Also, ECP/CP4L are not necessarily cheaper than buying them direct from a dealer - it always pays to shop around - and Harry Fairburn BMW seem to be doing genuine discs the cheapest at the moment.

Eurocarparts have a 50% discount at the moment. Use the code Love50, free same day delivery too.

I'd wait another week before ordering from ECP or CarParts4Less as there's usually a bigger discount before the end of the month.

I got Brembo discs and pads from ECP but that was a black Friday deal. HEL braided hoses from HEL too.

Shop around and compare prices!

I went with mtec drilled and grooved discs with the coating applied. Costs about the same as normal discs, but look better and sound cool when breaking too 8)

I paired them with textar epads (ceramic). I don't have any issues with brake dust sticking to the alloy and they seem to work perfectly fine.

Used these on mine and work fine and look good two yrs on. :thumbsup:I just cleaned up and lubricated the moving bits on the handbrake shoes as the were like new.

Thanks, ECP it is, code used , bargains all round...🤣🤣.

Taxed again and a wee run out reminded me what a bargain a decent Z4 is ...

Cheers👍
