3rd brake replacement

Hi everyone, my E85 3rd brake light has broken and I've looked on Amazon for one and they are around £30 to £50 as opposed to oem Bmw that seem to be nearer to £100.00. Has anyone bought these and if so are they okay. The reviews moan about the gasket being awkward are the oem ones also? Thank you all in advance. Mike.

When you fit them, put the middle nut on first and do it up, but not tight. Then do the two outer ones.
If you do the outer ones first then when you do the middle one it has no room no settle and can crack.

That's what I put on mine two days after buying the car as some how the old lens was missing!! Don't know it the break if the boot is slammed?

Yes, I did wonder re slamming the boot. Unfortunately it seems to be the only way to close it.

Have you tried moving the catch and/or locking pin slightly to get it to close easier?

Worked a treat on one of the doors on my 3 Series that had always needed slamming.
 
I used OEM, but a gather the Fleabay ones are fine.

It’s more a swooping push than an actual slam but I’m sure it doesn’t help.
 
Can anyone link an ebay one? I know I can find one myself but I want one that fits well, or fake ones are all the same?
I have ordered an OEM one but they don't know when they will have it in stock. I can cancel the order if the non-original fits the same and save me some money.
 
Couple of days ago, I installed this: High Level Brake Lamp Reliable LED ABS LED Third Additional Stop Light for BMW Z4 E85 02-08 https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ew2D7TB. Fit just fine and works ok, we’ll see for how long. Quality seems fine on the outside and it even came with a rubber gasket.

Thank you for your answers and suggestions. OEM order canceled, "fake" one ordered! :driving:
I swear that they steal those from some storages in China, those parts even come with part number lol

Did you buy the red, clear or black version?
