Removing rear window tint

PO tinted rear glass window on my Z4 ragtop. It appears from my research that it can be removed without damaging the defroster lines using heat. (Steam or hair dryer)
My question is how might the heat affect whatever is securing the glass to the fabric. I don't want the glass to fall out.
Any experiences to share?

I removed a dark window tint from the rear screen and rear windows of an e46 coupe a few years back... no heat required, just found a corner and slowly peeled it off, no problems. If a car has been sitting in the sun all day thatll be plenty warm enough to loosen the adhesive.
