So today was the day that my Z4 has its remap done. To start with the car had a full diagnostic done, and was given a clean bill of health, with no fault codes found in the system and the live data reading as expected. It was then taken for a test drive and again given the all clear.
The remap was then carried out and once everything had been disconnected we took the car out for a road test.
I must say I am somewhat disappointed with the results. I am guessing that I must have over hyped the results a bit too much, as although the car did indeed feel a little more awake, it didn’t blow me away.
Now I appreciate that it’s only a 2.0 engine, but the results from my 320d felt a lot more substantial, and that had much smaller gains in Bhp and torque.
Estimated results after the map were 260 bhp, and 420 on torque.
The car is pulling smoothly through the Rev range, but I am not noticing much of a push me back into my seat experience.
I am just expecting too much, or does it sound like the car has not responded too well to the map. I am thinking of getting a dyno done to see what the results.
The map was from Quantum tuning who I have used many times before.
Cheers
Paul
