That your wallet will take up much less room in your pocket
better spending on induction if you want to sharpen things up & add power![]()

Things like the throttle hysteresis can be adjusted, or the way the car switches between clutch disengaged map and clutch engaged map to reduce that initial lag when you change gear.
All depends on what exactly you want from the car I guess!

It's effectively the intentionally built-in lag between you making a throttle position adjustment and the ecu adjusting the necessaries to produce the requested torque. Think of it this way; if you go along a bumpy Road, bmw dont want you kangarooing on the throttle so they build in a little lag to allow your foot to move a bit and it won't instantly register. This lag also protects the drive train from sudden changes in inertia by wildly different torque requests from the throttle.
Loads of cool stuff to play with either way, I've got a friend who's been going through all the maps (there are so many it's ridiculous!) for the n52b30 engine to see what can be done![]()
Smartbear said:That's not throttle hysterisis though, hysterisis means memory which is the answer I gave-you are talking about throttle mapping which is a different thing, it's also altered by pressing the sport button which sharpens the throttle mapping up.
Throttle hysterisis is where the cars adaptive ecu learns your driving behaviour, which can be reset.
