Why do we get into these debates  Spud has put it on for a price he reasonably expects (and will not doubt negotiate). If someone wants it for this price they will buy it if not he has the E Bay option!
Hope you sell it Spud
This is very true AlanJ, Spud did put a price up that he reasonably expected, and there was nothing wrong with that. However I don't think there was anything wrong with other forum members pointing out that the original asking price was a bit in the steep side and gave their justifications as to why that was. In fact I think that's what makes the forum a good place to purchase things as there is an element of trust. Here are some previous examples of friendly advice being offered by forum members regarding pricing

Could be interested in these if the price drops. You'll see another thread where someone sold theirs for £400 in the last day or so, similar age/condition. If you're not interested in a drop and wish to hold out, then good luck anyway.

Hugely overpriced. I sold my 3 litre SE with lots of options, Z4M wheels, perfect history, etc. for £7400 recently.
Spud said:
You're still way overpriced.
Spud said:
Rather optimistic with that price tag, I think.

Take this as friendly advice, but that's hugely overpriced. You'd get a similar mileage 3.0i with decent options for pretty much 11k. I realise you'll probably take offers, but you're still way too high there.
Spud said:
You've got absolutley no chance of getting 12k for it.

Tyres with 10k miles on them? You'll be lucky if anyone takes them for free, fella.
As we can see there's nothing wrong with offering advice on a for sale thread is there Spud
I think It'd be a sad state of affairs of a forum member couldn't give help and or advice on pricing (especially when it is justified). I hope this doesn't change!
Anyway, back on topic, good luck with the sale Spud. I'll continue to watch this thread as I'm actually interest in purchasing this if the price is right!
