Recommend me a 37 or 40" TV to buy - bought 46"

I was glad I didn't take the Zed shopping as put seats down in Polo and got the lot in the back. Saved the 7-12 days delivery time. Need to get on to wall mount man tomorrow and organise putting it up. Can't wait!!

I've got the same TV, highly recommended... although I do wish I went for the 50" model!

Where did you buy it from?

Bentalls in Kingston. 5 year warranty on the TV and 2 year on sound bar.

Excellent choice Ruby. Will look awesome mounted. Samsung deffo have the lead in the smart TV world currently :geek:

Great choice... I have always got my tv wall brackets from amazon... Cost under £20 vs £100 in places like JL.

Also my series 8 samsung literally mounts on the wall like a picture... 2 holes and a wire inbetween and then hook the tv to it... Sure you could get you bf or dad to do that without too much hassle?

Problem is 42" won't fit in space :(

er, how have you overcome this?

Well spotted! I just changed my mind on the location. Saves me having to get a media unit too. With my indecisiveness that in itself could have taken the next 6 months.

Thats a good tip aquazi re brackets - thanks. I want a proper job so not going to risk anyone inexperienced having a go.

Totally agree with going to John Lewis, brilliant customer service and 5 year guarantee, and worth it for me to pay the extra for them to install and set up.
The earlier comment regarding poor sound quality from modern flat screens is very valid but then we are getting old.

I was right then, micro avnika have gone but its still in the same position in the same shop!

I've been rotating around this for a few weeks ruby.

Without any doubt LG and Samsung make the best screens. Panasonic next. However the lg and Samsung tech can be a bit too good and can change the way a picture looks. It's like they upscale the pic so much it becomes too real on some tv

You need to go and look at them all. And you need to see the same image on all. Then you need to decide which one you line the best as its you that will be looking at them.

Look for things line a rapidly changing picture. I use a scene where there were snow covered trees, the image was looking down into this forest and moving rapidly over it. The Panasonic was jerky as it changed the pic. The lg smooth.

As for size there isn't many 37s about compared with 40 and 32. Cost of 37 seems quite high.

I really like the Samsung 5500 tv.

I don't go in for the 3d rubbish, I think it's a fad, but you may want to.

You'll find tvs have a Hz value attached to them. Try to get as big as possible. In lay men's terms the larger the number the smoother the image will move... I can't really tell the difference above 100.

Sorry if I repeated stuff, I didn't read the thread

I can't believe all the chivalry on here and no one is offering to help Ruby out with her mounting request

Not making it easy though.
