Recommend me a 37 or 40" TV to buy - bought 46"

Interested in where this thread ends up Ruby. Been thinking recently on ways to kill my current 5 year old 42" Sony LCD and invest some of my hard earned on a new Smart TV. Worth looking at some modern Plasma's too by the way as there are some cracking deals out there. If you go smart, from what I've read, Samsung seem to have the best user interface.

Unless you wait a while and get an actual Apple TV when they get around to producing them. I'd put my house on it being the item that turns the technology on it's head and creates real user based change.

Samsung gets a big thumbs up from me.
We've had them for the last 3 telly's we've bought.
Also their repair service is outstanding. Current one we have, the wifi broke on it. (Rare thing to break apparently) I rang them and the repair guy was out next day and fixed within half an hour.

Carol - thanks for the Groupon link - I do like their offers generally and this looks like a decent one but I'm not keen on the criss crossy stand that Samsung have.

Having had a look around seems like its getting harder to get good TVs in 40" as they seem to want to make them bigger or charge a lot. This at 39" will be as close as I can get. Kind of decided against splashing out too much and this fits my budget nicely...Opinions please.
 
Now that is a TV and a half - great brand - only wished they had been at this price point when I was replacing a few screens last year

Have to agree on the above , a staggeringly good deal on the Loewe esp with 5 year warranty , i,m half tempted with that myself & i don,t even need a TV :cry:
 
Now Philips do not make TVs anymore, what does Loewe put in their units nowadays?

It is all going downhill with Panasonic stopping the Plasma productions as well.

Will have to wait for the 4k to fill the gap in quality then that the Plasma systems will leave behind.

That is sad news- I knew they had brought a lower priced range out to compete with the top end of Samsung et al- loewes always look better in the metal than the photos - the quality shines through .

Thanks Simon! This looks identical to the 39" I posted link to on page 2..except this at £329 way cheaper for bigger screen. Problem is 42" won't fit in space :(

Finally I have made a decision and bought this Samsung 46" with soundbar today. Very excited. Need to get it wall mounted. Do you approve?
