Recaro Poles... Talk to me.

Anyone got a clue about my seat motor question? If I can keep electric seats then I'm gonna definitely go for it as it'll be cheaper than getting 2nd hand M seats.

your electric setup will not work peddy, the whole reason we swap to these is to LOOSE the electric function.......

Beedub, why? The reason for losing the electric setup is to lose the weight, doesn't mean it can't be done. It won't be out of the box, but a lot of these things require some innovation.

peddy, as above, I doubt you would be lucky enough that they would directly mount onto the BMW electric rails. You may be able to get an engineering company to fabricate a plate to sit between the two - yet more weight through - I know some guys who've been prepping track cars and have had to get creative - although this is usually mounting the Recaro (or similar) rails to their cars where things don't always line up. Personally, while I don't think it's impossible, like Beedub, I wouldn't bother, you'd only really have the back and forth adjustment anyway which is painfully slow!

I think this is a good mod - I like my M Sport seats, but think they have been oversold somewhat. You can buy Poles already trimmed in leather although alcantara is more popular as it's less slippy.

If you look under the Motorsport section on PH there are quite a few race seats available for sale. Think there may also be a seats section under parts. Could be a good option if you're going for a re-trim anyway.

ADD: Personally I like the idea of getting them in alcantara and just having the seams stitched in a different colour, maybe a diamond pattern on the back like the BMW Performance ones, which are awesome! I'd be tempted to get the door cards done similarly.

Weight saving by putting different seats in ......... so how much bhp will you gain over the cost of the new seats? :poke:
Ahhh... what a noob comment! :poke:

'Newbie or noob is a slang term for a novice or newcomer, or somebody inexperienced in any profession or activity. Contemporary use can particularly refer to a beginner or new user of computers, often concerning Internet activity, such as online gaming or Linux use. It can have derogatory connotations, but is also often used for descriptive purposes only, without a value judgment. :?

The term's origin is uncertain. Earliest uses probably date to late twentieth century U.S. military jargon, though possible precursor terms are much earlier. Variant forms of the noun include newby and newbee, while the related term noob (often spelt n00b) is often used in online gaming' :o

Andy sixspeed has always had sexy racing seats, is it just the seatbelt points that will differ?

Andy, Pole Positions also - I think they're been re-trimmed too. You can use the standard seat belts, as in the picture Peddy posted, or go for a harness. I think playalistic's going to be the roadster test case for that setup. You going all light weight too now you've got your CSLs on?

Right, so I'm back from Simpsons. It's all doable of course, basically they can mount the points to the bulkhead safely. For now I think I might just get some seats and stick with the normal belts and see how I do.
