I think the official line is that if the LED tail light fails then the whole cluster has to be replaced I suppose the LEDs were expected to have a long life :?
I expect any failed components could be replaced, however they are probably sealed inside the light cluster so access would be difficult.
Has anyone tried to disassemble the rear LED light cluster?
I think Natishin is talking about the centre brake light. That unit can actually break (and frequently does). Rear light clusters don't break as such.
I think the actual cluster would be similar to a headlight, you'd either need to cut it or heat and try pry apart. Not seen anyone do this to a rear light cluster... so you'd be in uncharted territory!
