Rear tail lights

That depends....

Is it smashed? Replace it.

Is a bulb out? Replace the bulb!

Without more information we're all guessing here.

Facelift? Then that's a new unit unless I'm mistaken. Can probably get one for around £80 on fleabay.

I think the official line is that if the LED tail light fails then the whole cluster has to be replaced :( I suppose the LEDs were expected to have a long life :?

I expect any failed components could be replaced, however they are probably sealed inside the light cluster so access would be difficult.

Has anyone tried to disassemble the rear LED light cluster?

Mine was broken in a couple spots (previous owner doing) ordered one on line, it was installed easily, in about 15 minutes. Easy peasy.

I’m at that stage now. Light cluster out. Two star screws removed but struggling to separate the lens from the case.

I think Natishin is talking about the centre brake light. That unit can actually break (and frequently does). Rear light clusters don't break as such.

I think the actual cluster would be similar to a headlight, you'd either need to cut it or heat and try pry apart. Not seen anyone do this to a rear light cluster... so you'd be in uncharted territory!
