Sounds a bit disconcerting to me, what would the fix be for this?Shipkiller said:This is a known problem on earlier 3-series. Zed's use the same hardware...
Shipkiller said:You must replace them.
You can get OEM's that will do it again, or get better aftermarket ones.
If you remember, I had the same thing happen to my fronts last year...

OK
Up on my web site is three procedures you will need to do this. I just put them up there after ripping them from the BMW TIS CD.
1. Replacing a mounting for convertible top compartment floor.pdf. This will remove the interference to the tops of the rear shock mounts.
2. Replacing left or right rear shock absorber.pdf
3. Shock Absorbers Torque.pdf

Item no. eight...
For the stock OEM replacements:
33526779670 $25.22 (each)
Rear suspension - Suspension components - Shock mount
For a little more money, Rogue Engineering (example) had upgraded ones:

Remove the shock, unbolt and replace the mount, then reattach the shock...
I have a suggestion, since you are in there anyway, why not replace your shocks at the same time....![]()
