Rear Light Facelift Update Cheap How to

51717167525 Frame, rear light, left
51717167526 Frame, rear light, right

When you mention the plastic boot panel I assume you refer to the center bumper mount.

This is not working for me. I swapped the pins as specified. I validated the pin swaps in the BMW manual. The right side is woring fine, the left side is all screwed up. Left turn signal flashes the left upper LED at a very rapid rate. It should be flashing the amber. Something is wrong.

The bumper that i bought from ebay, arrived today. After several hours of polishing, it didnt even need re-spray :-D

Tail lights should arrive later on this week, so I should be able to begin installing at next weekend..
Lets hope they work on my car :-o

I still need to get those light frames to fix that gap between the rear fender and the light.

I had a loose or poorly seated bulb. I removed the assembly, reseated the bulbs, problems solved.

Another lemming :)

After months of searching and missing out on rearfaclift lights on ebay, I managed to pickup a set for £110

They were a tad scratched and dull but i used a restorer to get them back to a near new condition

I should be getting my Ebay M rear bumper and frames back from the painters next week, but have wimped out on the rewiring and recoding, as i have found a place near Birmingham that will do it for £80 - if all goes to plan i will post some pics and details -

Bitter, sweet... This maybe my last major mod

A few teaser shots before I go for paint. I've been doing all of the pre fitting work myself.

May seem a daft question but how do you open the boot? It looks from the pictures that the rear spoiler is attached to the rear wings or is it just me?

Personally I don't like the rear spoiler. I think it spoils the lines of the car... but each to there own :D

Some say, that rear spoliers are only put on certain types of cars to give you something to easily push when they break down... :poke:

I'll reseve final judgement once it's all sprayed up, though +1 for wouldn't have one fitted myself

It does look like that spoiler attaches to the wings?! Either that or it is somehow attached to the middle?

The spoiler is a matter of preference. Personally the only exterior design element of the Z4 that has always bothered me is the duck tail spoiler. The Hamann spoiler is attached to pedestals on each edge of the trunk lid. They are more visible here because they are silver and contrast against the color of the car.

Ranski tell me how this goes as I haven't got the gear to code mine

Find an independent BMW shop with an Autologic tool. Common in the UK from what I understand becuase it's made in the UK. My shop coded for free while the paint work was being done.
