Rear end Quad Conversion Progress.

Also made a good find today. Had a drive to Hull to GFG Plastics just on a bit of a reccy and came away with a great bargain. Got some aluminium composite sheet which consists of a central core of plastic with thin aluminium sheet either side and then a coating of plastic on that. Very strong and fairly light, apparently used to make road signs etc. and it comes in various colour coatings. So I purchased some black with a view to making some fang protectors out of it. Just need to find a template or drawing for one now. Also got a strip of it to fab up an undertray extension piece.....When it is cut you do see the different layers of the sandwich but nothing a spot of paint won't solve..

CF diffuser (no longer available and heavily modified)

Was looking at a quad exhaust conversion, off to see a local guy on Monday about that...
Trying to arrange to pick up a rear bumper from SK93 to have a play with to accommodate the quad and retrofit some kind of rear diffuser.
Do you have any closer/better pics of your rear end I could look at for ideas..
Ooooerrr missus.This thread might help which is a write up of the entire project. (Clearly there were a few mods made later once it was on the car such as the rear lights, side skirts, blacking the boxes, etc.)

don't think you'd ft anything in, but you'd have to do some measuring. In any event I wanted oem boxes so wasn't an issue.jakblade said:

Alongside the battery box is what I assume is a charcoal filtered air breather thingy that relates to the fueltank. what it is and what it does I don't know, but it exists, and takes up the remaining space between the battery box and the outer wing.
Myself, and a few others, get around this space issue with our quads, by running a pipe from the drivers side, round to the passenger side, BEHIND the battery box (so, along and directly infront of the rear bumper), with our exhaust tips coming out at a 90 degree angle from the passenger side "box".

or a 3rd choice...... EMP Performance did a quad conversion to ESPs Black 2.0i and im going to them in a few weeks once my rear //M bumper is finally sprayed, u can see from the pics below they dont do the traditional 90 degree behind the bumper style....

Awesome job done by EMP Performance in StAlbans today, sounds amazing, like a different engine compared to the previous custom box i had installed.

It is possible its how i have done mine. I made my own skinny tubular silencers (wrong name for them really as they are fecking loud!!) I had to relocate the fuel filter thing!! But i just put it the other side of the battery box as i dont have a great big exhaust there now.
Mine branches left and right just behind where you sit in the car. Relocating the fule filter thing was a bit of a faff. But i did do all of mine on axel stands. And that's not the easiest way of building a custom exhaust system. I saved about 10kg of the original system.
Sorry mine isn't a tee off system like your now planing.
