Rear 6 CD Auto changer

Changing the CD changer is a royal pain in the arse, the interior trim needs to be dismantled if I remember correctly. To be honest I'd forget it and put a iPod solution in. Intravee/Alpine, Dice, Dension etc
Mine states no magazine, I pulled the main fuse and then the radio tried to find it but eventually came up with the same message again. No lights on the changer at all, and the magazine will not release, so I'd like to try the above - how do you get the lining out? Pull that string? Thanks.Toe-side said:
There's a couple of black plastic grommets either side holding the base of the vertical section of boot carpet, you remove either side The string grommet allows the carpet to lift up so you can get your hand and see under. The grommets are a bit of a faff. I broke one

pulled the fuse, replaced the fuse, CD made a noise, radio looked for CD's, found none, "no magazine" message again, and the magazine still won't come out - I give up :lol: Who want's a choice of music anyway - I'd rather have the hood down and listen to the noise

Its happened about 3 times and I have always got it out one of the Cd's is jammed across.

Soft handle screwdriver: handle is the right shape to get in and hit the magazine. End on.
The screw driver has some weight, does not damage the magazine but helps release the stuck CD carriage by shocking it. I could take a picture?
