Just spotted this and it does make your blood boil.
If I have this right this grade A (insert your own expletive) not only didn't show up for your Hardtop but then a few hours later has the front to be back on the forum publicly stating he is Pming another member about some black CSL style wheels!
On top of that he seems to have an on/off history of selling his Coupe! Talk about Mr Timewaster!
Its not my place, as I'm not victim, but I really think this muppet needs naming and shaming, can't the mods take some action against him, such as ban him to protect the rest of us?
It might be worth the OP here Pming the seller of the wheels to warn them of what they are dealing with.

I find that with the 'buy and sell section' on here, not ALL dealings are done on the thread or updated to reflect what's going on with the items/potential buyers etc etc.....

I open up sales threads of interest to see stuff sold with no actual replies on the thread. Leaves both seller and buyer wide open to being messed about and at worst, ripped off. I know it's a 'free to trade' thread but a simple ruling of ALL DEALINGS TO BE DONE ON THE THREAD and actually policed to ensure it then we'd all be in a better place, yes???
If every part of the deal was kept on the thread then it could be policed better and other members could see who was messing others around.

My bad, I see the Buy and Sell rules clearly state what I'm getting at so why do so many flaunt these rules and why is it not policed when the rules are broken?

Annoying, but sadly just because someone is a forum member doesn't mean they are good buyer, treat others with respect, etc.

I think sometimes people simply change their mind and find it easier to cease any further communication to save embarrassment on their part or simply have a couldn't care less attitute towards others. It is very annoying though especially if waiting for someone to turn up at your home.
I generally have great displeasure trying to sell anything these days, especially on ebay but also other car forums. I find peoples idea of bartering or making an offer is to offer half of what you are asking. A few years ago I advertised a set of AC Schnitzer alloys in perfect condition with virtually unworn tyres., I was asking 800 quid which I thought was pretty reasonable but would have gone down a little. The offers came flooding in, 250 quid mate, I'm in your area mate will you take 300 cash etc etc which to me were just insult offers. I had one guy though who offered me 300 quid and wouldn't take no for an answer to a point I was receiving abusive messages which I ignored. He then tried a different tact of apologising and upping the offer to 350 :lol: I just don't know what planet people are on sometimes but find alot of people want something for nothing. I sold the alloys in the end on Pistonheads, a nice chap who offered me the asking price. He drove up in his 3 series from London to Staffs in a blizzard and 5 inches of snow, collected the alloys and was really chuffed with them and off he went back to London Thats the kind of buyer I like.

There is an element of trust on all sides. I think there is less scope for pi$$ing folk off when the transaction is by electronic payment and the item is sent via post. Ok there can be issues there but you are not left sitting around for hours waiting on someone who might not turn up.
I didn't think Ron was the type of man to muck me about so I was more than happy to hold the item and arrange the postage upon his return. I also got some great updates on his travels and we had a good chat upon his return. I was also going away so I wanted it sent before then. I knew he was 'old skool' so a cheque was fine with me.

Totally agree with what Tim said people want things for nothing and at times the offers are insulting. I don't blame anyone asking for a few quid off but offering half what you are asking or less is just rude.

Not sure why, but it seems the norm that everyone just PMs each other, and for the mods to try and supervise every thread in the section - it's too much work.nb67 said:

Just an idea, 99.9% of members would follow the rules if they knew about them or had them brought to their attention as a reminder as some of us, me included, don't always look at them initially.
An unfortunate occurrence but hopefully rare. If it's the guy who I think it is then he's a complete wa@ker and was the main cause of me packing in the Facebook forum. Sometimes you can get an idea of what people are like by looking at their Twitter feeds. Don't let it raise your blood pressure it isn't worth it.
