Re spray

Unfortunately the paint is past that stage in places so rather than smart repairs I and Pdr I think jus have a a full re spray is the best opinion as I know car will be perfect once done

Rare doesn't always equal desirable.

Rare means its rare. Maybe some people won't care, but exclusivity means there will be people willing to pay for that. There was a 2 or maybe 2.5 litre with like 10k miles for a stupid amount a few months back. Not desirable spec. But such low mileage is rare, and therefore will always demands a premium. Whether it's worth that to you is another question. People will always pay more for exclusivity IMO.

Yeah I understand smg is not for everyone I’ve had a m3 e46 smg and I perfer them in sport mode there fantastic once u get used to them can change quicker than anyone could manually

Totally agree. They are marmite. Not for everyone, but there are people that really like it. Having driven all 3 types I prefer Manual over Auto. But SMG takes top place for me! :)

I think u give someone a smg for a few weeks to get used to them there’s nothing not to like u read a lot in the internet there useless it’s jus not true it takes a few drives to get the hang of them then u can really enjoy them and realise bmw especially at the time did a really good gearbox there a good reason u can only get a e46 m3 csl in a smg which that car has to be one of the most desirable bmw in history atm

Its not really rare, so changing the colour wont devalue anything given values of these and how many there are of them around.

I'd disagree with you. A SMG is rare. But don't take my word for it, take a look at the market. There's only one I could find for sale! Then factor in colours, mileage, service history, optional extras like sat nav, audio, seat colour, wheels, etc. If there aren't many on the market, you're not flooded with options.
Apologies. I meant ‘rare’ as in it will be more valuable generally than the next Z4 on the market. I guess if somebody was looking for that exact colour, mileage and spec....but I guess you could also consider that situation rare.

But it’s the same thing? Quick search and there’s only 1x SMG compared to approx. 50x auto and 120x manual on auto trader?

The mileage, spec, engine size etc is just extra parameters. If you’ve got the choice you can whittle things down. If there’s only say 1 or 2 on the market, you’re pretty limited... because it’s so rare?

My thoughts on it anyway! :)
