Rare 35iS availability

I was actually following a E92 M3 today in town, it didn't have the noise the Z4 has because you need to really put the foot down with the V8 to get that lovely roar but the looks you get in the Z4 is just amazing and the noise helps too
Couldn't agree more  my M3 wasn't as loud at 8400rpm as my Cerbera was on tickover! ...I still think when the engineers made the S65 they tried their upmost for it not to sound like a V8 as best as they could because its incredible how muted it is, my missus loves cars but even she agrees with me regards how poor the V8 M3 sounds...its just so disappointing...just don't get me started on its weight and low down urge!

Overrated is its middle name...love the E36/E46 M3 though. :driving:

I'm sure it's nice when you just want a nice, calm, relaxing drive but I'm sure most people thought the noise was coming from the E92 until it pulled over to park up and I got a nice little but acceleration when the lights changed.

It's a shame that they made such a car which just doesn't have the same allure as previous gens. My dads M3 start up always makes me go oohhhh. The whole car does, nice sound, nice drive. Nice place to be  my Mum hates it!! Doesn't stop her driving it like a woman possessed.

Hmm, having just been round the nurburgring in an m3 ringtaxi, I'd have to say it was a phenomenal car, blindingly quick, lovely sound and excellent handling, not over rated at all.

They are over rated as a road car in my opinion, in the nurburgring environment they will work fine as you can keep the revs above 6k to make the best of its high rev range but out on the road it can feel very very flat low down in the revs, I never had any complaints with the induction noise that is really good its just the exhaust note that is seriously muted for a 4.0 V8 for me personally...I presume the brakes are uprated on the ring taxi`s as that's another area where the E92 M3 is weak they wilt under hard road use and I would never trust the standard set up on a track.
Pic of my old one...

Have to agree regards the M3 e92 - I was dead set on getting one last year... until I test drove it for an hour.

Love how it looks, love the whole 'M3' thing - but driving slightly aggressively on 50 mph A roads / roundabouts like a loon was very disappointing. It just did not feel 'fast' & the noise was much too civilised. Had to wring it's neck right up to the redline to get any real drama going - and that's not what I wanted from a daily driver.

Stumbled across a nice z4 35is & love it - feels faster in normal life (like MUCH faster) - better noise (x10) - more drama. Love it.

Just popped out for lunch - 2 minutes drive to macdonalds & back.

Out the car park, Sport +, BAAAAAAAAARK... cough.. fart... (2nd) BAAAAAAAAAAAARK... fart.. fart.. burble.... (back to 1st)... BLLLLLLAAAAAAAARRRP... cough..burble...BLLLLAAAAAAAARRRRPP.. splutter... fart (made old lady jump).... etc etc

Brilliant :)

Matt

Im thinking about adding mine to that list at the end of May, we are house hunting at the moment and so it may have to go....

Anyone got a link to this fully loaded 35is? BMW approved site is a POS.
Yea I couldn't find it either. Fancied a heated steering wheel as well.

It is at Elms - Bedford. Space Grey £25,995

No longer for sale. Now only 6 nationwide but if I recall correctly the spec was very high on the 25k one. Wasn't fully loaded, only a few options hence the price.

It was on thier website at lunchtime today. You'd think they have the resources to keep it current. :(

Could of been someone buying it at lunchtime or this afternoon. I bought my E88 on my lunch break on a Friday, knew what I wanted and went with the intention of ordering it and leaving a big lump of cash and I did the deal for my E89 at 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon by phone and by that night it was gone from the site.

Just like when I traded my E88 by the time I got back from Newcastle it was already on the BMW AUC site with pictures.

Wow that is rare. Had an email from Cooper today

According to the BMW site it's on the 18i & 20i models on their retail finance package, but I can't see why it can't be applied to the rest of the range. Not as good as some of the deals to be has on M5s & M6s which have been given hefty discounts and 0% finance. Sign of the current buying patterns.

I love the drop me an email to let me know your thoughts on this. Nice way to bait you in and hassle you for months

Just passing time on BMW approved and Porsche approved.

There are currently 4 35iS available from BMW. That must be the most that I've seen for a while. at least 1 with a 'full house' spec (heat wheel, TV etc) if anyone is looking for one.

There's not an awful lot of difference in performance between a 35i with DCT and the 35is

I think Parkers guide quotes 0-60 in 4.9 secs for the 35i DCT. Quick enough?
