Range after a fill...

Just got 250 miles from 40litres, thats 2/3 Mway / 1/3 town/a road driving, i'll see what i get without the Mway driving after filling her up with Vpower tonight.

Okay, maybe if you drove ultra sensibly and mainly motorway driving would you be able to get 300 out of a tank. But who drives an M sensibly and doesn't visit the town once in a while?

Nah when I drive like a granny I get 22.5MPG. :poke: :P Even when I drive aggressively and rev-match all the time I still can't get below 19MPG.

GP20 says"300 miles in an Z4M is EASY. All you have to do is average 20.1 MPG"

On waht calculation is that unless u have fitted an ultra big tank. Mu tank capacity is 55lts. Even if I drive with miles miles left to fill up showing 0 miles and fill the tank i can only get close to 53-54lts. cant get the maths right here. its more like 225miles or so.

Fuel Tank capacity of 55 litres = 14.53 gal (US gal).

20.1MPG X 14.5gal = 292 miles. Close... probably looking at 20.7 MPG to achieve 300miles theoretically.

I get about 240-260 miles before I freak out on the needle and fill up. :) I've been averaging <19MPG lately.

I get roughly the same thing 20 mpg of course its UK gallon. So 55lts =12.2g. 12.2*20 =240miles. That will be a very good drive for me if i get 240miles.

Yep.. same as me. Thats 240 with a bone dry tank too, at "---" there's still over a litre left.

Mine's regularly giving me 300 miles on a tank and even then it'll only let me put a max of 50 litres in the tank. If I fill up as soon as the 'low fuel' light comes on I can't get over 40 litres in and the OBC shows that light at 60 miles to empty.

I work that out at about 26mpg average - although that's probably 240 miles of motorway at 80-90mph and 60 miles of A/B roads at 30-60mph.

If I cruise at 70mph for a good few miles I can get it over 30mpg, and if I put it into 6th and use light throttle at 35mph I can get over 40mpg although I can usually only do that 6th gear low throttle in 40mph roadwork sections on dual carriageways as that shoots down very quickly once a set of traffic lights come into play.

40mpg. Christ. I thought I was dreaming in trying to get 25!! (Currently running at 20.6 and everytime it goes up by 0.2 I get all excited :D )

hmmm me too.

Wonder if it's worth devising some kinda test .. sit at 60mph in 4th and reset the mpg, leave it for say 20 seconds and see if most of us get within 5 % ?

The only problem with getting 40mpg is you just can't move your foot on the pedal once it's at the correct speed & revs, otherwise it either slows the car or you see the MPG figure dropping quickly - you can get higher figures, but you need to be going downhill :P

i get around the 280 mark too, most of my commute is motorway though... best i've had is 310 though the needle was off the bottom of the guage and the remaining miles was 0! i was sweating on the way to the petrol station ;)

just for the record i've had my new one for 15000 miles (the old one it did 10000) and this one definately seems more economical... the more miles i do the better it seems to get... (sorry i'm obsessed with MPG thats what having a co car and fuel card for 10 years does to you lol)

on the way back from the petrol station tonight (its 2.5 miles straight flatish Aroad) at approx50-60 mph i got the clock to 39.4! just didn't hit the 40mpg 8)

280miles ish if I've been motorway cruising it beforehand (80ish).

I think I saw 140ish after filling up between laps of the 'Ring... :D

Oh... and I'll take your 36k miles Cherburator, and raise you a 41k... :P :driving:
