Range after a fill...

Evenin all,

Just a quickie, after a complete fill up how much do people expect to see on their range indicators?

I know it's incredibly subjective, but mine seems to be about 280 if i'm being fairly conservative, but i've easily had less than 200 on a tank.

I spoke to a bloke at my dealers who was running a MC as his daily and he reckoned 350+ was fairly easy but I reckon he was still in salesman mode.

I drove 40miles last night on the way back from the footie and the best i could manage for the whole trip was 29.7mpg.

95RON is back under ther magical pound I know, but I'm interested all the same ! :hattip:

Mine usually reads 286 when full. I get slightly better economy since i swapped the exhaust for a straight through system and managed 34.something on a run from liverpool to Stow in the Cotswolds two weeks ago - that was my foot off the loud pedal and 70MPH or thereabouts cruisin' all the way M62, M6, M5 etc.

Hey, who cares petrol will be 30p a gallon soon

Mine reads between 280 and 330, however I've never got 280 out of a tank let alone 330. Think the most I've had was 260 and miles left was ----

The readout after a full tank will depend on your current consumption. After a long highway drive, I filled up the tank and I got 620 kms. When I drive mostly in the city, a full tank will give me a readout of no more than 400 kms. :(

On a long trip this I set cruise control at 81 mph and made 312 miles on one tank. My rationale is that at 81, my GPS showed 78 and the cops didn't bother me. Normal mixed driving I've had as little as 190 and as much as 260.

I average 260 - 280 miles per tank but I have seen a little over 300 miles once when I let the car run down to 0 and then ---- :o It accepted 52.7 litres that day and then showed over 340 miles to go!
My commute is generally slow over A and B roads but not good for driving very economically due to the relatively frequent stop/starts and the very occasional redline fun. I think I could get 300 miles to a tank normally if I used motorways at steady speeds.

Motorway driving from London to Germany - 34.9mpg
Driving in Germany in some places - 10mpg :driving:
UK overall mpg on average - 28mpg

Average range 320miles

car has 36k miles on it

filled up today (52l) and it said... 190miles

fair play mr cheburator... 36k miles ? :driving:

I usually get around 280 - 300 out of one tank if i push to the tank red line under normal use. I use my M as my everyday motor. Up to 17k now since last year. Still reading another 10k until my next service (had the 1st oil one June)

Mixture of in town and motorway driving. The in car MPG usually averages out about 23 - 24 mpg.

Updates pls?.. mine still rarely does 250+.

Anyone else wanna chime in with their new motors ? :)

I barely get 225. I drive mainly in city its 80:20 to city driving. On mianly motorway/country roads I have managed about 260. I've stopped worrying about it. I'm going to enjoy the drive.

don't get me wrong, me too.. it's just i have a niggling doubt after I spoke to a salesman with a MC who said he got 300+ every time, and my specialist reckons it's running rich but my dealer says it's fine..

just nice to get a feel whether everyone else are hooligans too.

When i bought mine i was told it was doing 30mpg on an average by the salesman, a blatant lie, coz i could see on the sat nav screen it had only given about 25mpg. he also told me the range to be atleast 300miles. Complete b******s. Anyway i didnt believe him as i had done my research. I wanted the car for its performance not for mileage so didnt mine.
