Rain sensing Wiper function stoped working

I have recently repaired my wipers,as they were not stopping in the correct place on the windscreen.

I used the guide on here involving removing excess grease off the contacts plates.

Since then I have now found that my intermittent function that activates with the sensor on the windscreen has stopped working. The one stroke and the two speeds still work as they should.

Has any body else had this issue?

Is this related to the fix I did on the wpiers or is it just a coincidence that has stopped working?

Any help would be appreciated.

I had this same issue last week on my 2017 X5 and it turned out to be due to the rain sensor having become dislodged following a windshield replacement a couple of years ago. Took the car back to the windshield shop and got them to reinstall the sensor and it’s all fixed now.

Rain sensor hasnt been dislodged or anything and is still firmly attached to the screen.
