Thanks guys, especially to wantanm and Nosa who have *both* sorted me out - owe you both one 
Have to confess I have not called the police yet - a number of cars have had nails stuck in tyres multiple times round here and the police have done nothing. That said, I will call them tomorrow morning on their new non-emergency number and see what they say...
Plan is lights first, possibly with a real camera - got lights out front already, but they're not bright enough and needing replaced. Next is a bigger shed, as that was planned anyway - decant the garage into the shed, skip for the rest of the crap + old shed. Once I can get the car in the garage with space to move I'll perhaps put the carbon badges back on, but for now I'll put it back to stock and hope they leave it alone. Nosa suggested electrifying the car, however on reflection I'd probably forget and electrocute myself :roll:

The laws you refer to are titled RIPA I think, and you could be right - but neds are unlikely to know that, so even a fake camera may be enough. The tarp idea has some appeal, and under serious consideration as an interim measure

Don't get your coat - serious consideration, not just for the sake of the Z. Been here a while longer than expected anyway and have been mulling over trying to trade up. Straws and camels perhaps, but the garage gets cleaned out first - if for no other reason than it needs done anyway

I'm just glad it's no worse than stolen badges - bricks through screens and thrown at a house are much worse, so gonna stop grumbling now

As I said to Bing earlier, i think his car is being targeted for bits, Carbon badges removed, No damage, Clear side repeater taken, bulb and holder left in place, again no damage, it's being stripped to order IMO,

Get it garaged. Motion-activated lights and real/fake CCTV are great, but they're no substitute for getting a car secured behind a locked door. Cameras/lights can easily be defeated by a raised hood to hide the face and if they're quick enough they won't give a f**k about the light. Hang on, that sounds like I know what I'm talking about

we use a cover on the car if we leave it like hollys an dat
also have row of lights to light up drive area , just changed them to led type bulbs , actualy brighter now ||
