Do you not fancy trying to find a 6 month old one? Would hate to think of the residuals

Theres bound to be loads of those in a similar spec knocking around.

Hi Tom,
Nice Zed there you have mate.

I hear what you are saying and I agree. It's alot of money to loose if she gives it up after the term ends. Originally, the gf went to see a used one she liked the look of on her own and the salemans suggested for the payments she could afford to together with a better trade in for her E85 they could get her into a new one. Thats how it all started.

I want to test the water with what the the best deal BMW can give her for both used and new. Also try and get an extended test drive for the lady.

Go back and decide what to do.

Ye I understand and it would be lovely to have a new one

But as lovely as that would be 35k for a 2.0l is a lot!! There is a lot you could get for that kind of money, could have a 3-4y/o 911 for that, or a 2-3 y/o 35i but everyone is different. The market is flat but there is a lot of fantastic cars to be had for a pittance.

BMW are desperate to sell cars, they will throw in warranties to suit you and if they dont threaten to walk away. I guarantee they will pester you until they give you what you want.

But your in the driving seat, its a summer car were in to have an awful winter and the market is flat. Power is with the buyer not the seller. There will be a lot of sellers desperate to sell and winter is the worst time. Might be worth having a look through the usual outlets or BMW approved, see what there is before signing up to anything

Might find youll save 6-7k easily, and you can still get PCP. Took mine on PCP.

doesn't fit the bill completely but was registered Aug 2012 its done 2k milage!! Its a brand new car! £25k thats 10k less for a 4 month old car... see what i mean??

You may even have some room to manoeuvre too.

Fantastic find Tom, thanks.
As you say, it's practically brand new. The colour combo is right only thing is she wants an M Sport version. I guess I need to work out what the main differences are between that and the base car.

The savings alone speaks for itself. £10k is alot of money.

Well ye, generally the 2.0 is the entry point so there are a lot around, for the sake of 4 months or one plate you still get 2 1/2 years of warranty. They take a big hit straight off the forecourt and 10k is a lot of money to everyone especialy when we are talking apples and apples, that is an M sport isnt it? Im not an expert on the E89 but that one just stood out on the first page. A quick search on BMW AUC brought over 60 cars up to 18 months old less than 10k miles in white, leather and heated seats, most had the coral red too. They started at 20k up to around what your looking at to buy new. There are a few on there for £26k that have all the toys sat nav, upgraded sound the works. Worth a good look over them

Totally see what you mean and I think we need to just have a rethink.
Thanks for the advise.

I assume it's your Mini that's on PCP?

Hi
That is the Msport version with the 19"326 wheels
Real good money to
Good luck

:o - I thought it was the base car since it didnt say M Sport in the title. Read it properly and it says it further down.

 r1andy

No got the Z on PCP, paid for the Mini.

You can get any car on PCP if you want, just worked out easiest. They did a scheme when I traded my old car, they gave me 2k more than it was worth then payed it out in cash to me. When it comes to pay the final payment that will pay for it, till then it will sit in the bank, then borrowed the difference so it worked out a good deal.

It also has free servicing for 60k or until 08/2017! So nothing to worry about.

Just had a look at it and infact looks perfect. The spec is exactly what she wants and price against new is fantastic.

As you say, it has the free servicing too. Gonna book an appointment to see whether it's still available. :)

I think you right to look used, my 35is was only £28k with 6k on clock and a year old and it has pretty much everything fitted and would have been just over double that new!

Good luck with it hope you find the right car! if she really has her heart set on a new one, there are a few pre registered 0 milage cars around if you search for them

this has the spec you want (i think) has 50 miles on it and is sub £30k

Plus an EOS 5Diii. Is photography paying better than I'm led to believe or have you got a rich woman in tow? That or you're a reclusive millionaire :D

Haha the insurance money for the drowned 5DMKII paid for the 5DMKIII and a little extra for selling the old 40D and a couple of older lenses I had lying around and recent commission, plus I just got a new job get paid more now :D The nice thing is it still attached to my old work place so I can work for them too lol

But ive also just started a new business on the side for weddings and events photography. Because I worked as a photographer for the local paper a lot of people knew me from coming to photograph events and stories so got 5 pre bookings for the new year already so its looking promising so really happy about that  Slowly but surely making it a reality to be a full time photographer so I can work for myself, which is my dream really. The lakes is a good place to be a wedding photographer, so theres potential for a full time career doing it.

Also had a lot of interest on my flickr page too! A lot of my car images are getting a lot of hits with a couple over 500! Which is good seen as tho I dont advertise it at all. So a few commissions are dribbling through. Just trying to get my name out there. The problem working full time and doing it on the side is that motivation was lacking. But decided I needed to sort it out, so hopefully 2013 will be the year

The new camera really makes a difference tho, so versatile. It is perfect for dipping and dabbing in all photographic genres.

The Mini is half mine, share it with my mum so we went 50/50 for it. :)

Ye i wish on the last two!

Tom i am self employed, it`s the best move i ever made i just wish i had made the move earlier in life, but hey :D you go for it mate.
