Quad exhaust

For sale is the Quad exhaust that I purchased of Machine Monkey ( off his car )with the intention of fitting to my Z4 3.0. I have had it a few months but never got round to fitting it to my car and probably won't now. In machine monkeys words it was done quite quickly so doesn't look very good but it does not leak and does sound quite good. He sent me a short video. Just asking what I paid for it.

£50

If it's got machine monkey tips on too I'd say it's a bargain!
Shame I've only got a 2.5 with a twin pipe.
GLWTS

Forgive me my ignorance but as somebody more aesthetically minded than mechanically minded, will this only fit a 3.0L?

I am not 100% sure but if you have 2 pipes coming into the rear silencer then I think it could fit ax you take the silencer off then put this exhaust on.

Machine monkey would probably know as he made it

Don't forget you will have to either modify your rear bumper or replace it with a 3ltr version to accommodate the two extra pipes at the other side.

The bumper wasn't the problem, I have a rear splitter fitted which is more suited to a quad exhaust than the single pipe, but I'm only a four pot so I don't think I have the means to fit this.

Stupid question, but I take it this is for the earlier E85 and not the E89?

Yes e85 only mate.
The pre facelift was for the M54 engine roadster. From 2003 to 2005 I think? Maybe 2006. If you're a e89... won't work!

It would be doable on a 4 pot, however the shape and mounts of your silencer are different to the one from the 3.0L pre facelift.

Do you expect it's a big job then?

Here's a photo of my quad conversion to my 2008 2.0 for reference ..... hope it helps

The mounts would need changing on the main box, as they are in different places, and the rear pipes too.

See in my head I'm seeing the ££'s and I'm thinking '£50 for a quad exhaust!', when in reality it's £50 for some of the tools, then plenty more for all the work I'd need doing to convert it.

It's the work bit I can't afford. Shame :(
