As some of you may be aware, my son had an accident at school in October and is now wheelchair bound.
At the time I didn't know what to do or what the future held.
We it's now nearly 8 months on and I am so proud of the boy I love turning into a well adjusted determined young man. I on the other hand have been a jibbering wreck since. Mainly when I'm on my own. I won't let him see me get emotional when he's around.
He lives with his mum and step dad and I will say they both work very hard to make sure he has emotional and physical support when needed.
Every day he goes from strength to strength. He has started play wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby. He is also sitting his GCSE's so all in all has a pretty full agenda.
I do my upmost to make sure he is looking positively at his life and will say he hasn't moaned once. Actually he did once but after sitting with him and talking about what he has got and what he can do he hasn't looked back.
Not sure why I'm sharing this with you all but I guess you are part of my extended family and I have had very kinds words expressed from you and for that I am grateful.
Plenty of people slate forums etc but I have found the site to be very useful for my car related stuff and as my lad also loves my car a great way to share with him.
The other thing I would say is tell your loved ones you love them. Don't put off that phone call or let bad feeling come between you. I very nearly lost the most precious thing to me ( no not the zed
) and am grateful I can see him grow into the great young man I am seeing develop.
He is planning to stay on at college and go to uni. He wants to go into engineering so I know if he puts his mind to it he will achieve this
Just some random pics and vids of my lad
