Project Restoration Zed- almost done.

So a good day fettling yesterday now has the airbag light and the seat back fixed. The fox to the door card seems to be holding the water out too. So left the roof off to let the carpets a chance to dry.

HELP! So yesterday I tried swooping the LCM back over to the original to see if that would get rid of the airbag code for incorrect chassis number. It did, and the original LCm also started to work perfectly! So happy. Then today went to move the car and the airbag light is still gone but the lights are back to not working! Advice or help please!!!!

Seems the damp air in the car is what has caused the LCM to have an issue- back working again now. Any advice in finally getting the carpets to dry without completing removing them? The sponge obviously holds a lot of moisture!

What about the wife’s hair dryer? Dare you? :D
 Tried that but it just warms sections up- may try again.
Thinking of leaving in garage with roof open- but that means my Z is outside

I took the seats out, packed loads of old towels under the carpet then weighed it down with old batteries to squeeze the water out. Change the towels a few times.

Thanks for the suggestions- will try them- the seats already out- just need to take the seatbelt off to take it out and away from the car- is that easy enough to do?

Dehumidifier if you know someone that has got one

So I was in BMW tonight picking up my X5 after a brake disc and pad service (don’t get me started on how this is part of a BMW service history)

Anyway I took the key for project Zed along to see how much history I could get for the car. The key scanned but there was no history docs available. I can’t believe the car has never been in a dealer so any other way you can suggest I get the history from BMW?

Trays full of silica cat litter also work to dehumidify.

Better make sure there are no cats around first
Cheers, the moisture isn’t in the air as I have dehumidifiers in the car but they aren’t collecting. The towel under the carpet seems to have done the trick
